Magic Trip - January 14, 2014

Hubby got sick, so I did this Magic Trip - alone.  I did miss him, but it was so much fun just wandering around by myself.  No one telling me they were hungry or bored, lol.  I loved it.

Pictures of the Main St. signage
Penny pressing
Disneyland and DCA maps for a project for the grand babes
Pictures of the Carousel Horses

I got everything done, but the best was the horses. I talked to a Cast Member and told her that I wanted to take pictures of the individual horses, especially since I found out they all have names.  She let me in right as she was loading and I wandered around taking pictures.  I did it 3 times.  I might have missed 4 of the horses.  Oh my gosh, these horses are beautiful.  I had never really paid attention before.

This was one of my favorite horses.  I need to find out her name.

There are 85 horses total, but only about 64 on the carousel at a time.  There is a Cast Member whose job is to take care of the horses.  The Cast Member that was in charge of the ride, at the time, took her job very seriously.  We talked for awhile, it made my trip just that much better.

This is my other favorite horse.

She was dedicated to Julie Andrews is 2008 as a Disney Ambassador.  The saddle and back piece have Mary Poppins' icons on them.   I rode her when I was done taking pictures and it felt magical.  Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies when I was little.  I had a Mary Poppins doll when I was younger, I wish I still had her.

Magic Trip - January 12, 2014

We have passes to Disneyland and go at least once a week.  I thought it would be fun to write down all the things that you can do or see - besides the rides.  I made a Disney Bucket List and will make one for California Adventures, too.  Every time, we plan to do something from the list - we will call it a Magic Trip.  I made a list of the things that I wanted to do for our very first "Magic Trip"

This was a trip of things that we have never done before.  I havn't rode in the fire engine or the horseless carriage.  I have never been inside the cinema or watched "Moments with Mr. Lincoln".  I hadn't been to the Gallery or City Hall, either.  I had pinned a bracelet made out of pressed pennies and knew that I wanted to make one from Disneyland.  I heard that Disneyland had a map of the machines at City Hall - so that is where we started our day.

I wanted to know about the map, find out what buttons they have and any other information that they could give me.

I met a Cast Member named Lauren, she was super helpful and sweet.  She answered all my questions and totally made my day.  She spent almost an hour with me giving me so much information.  She showed me a special book that had a page signed by Diane Disney Miller.  I had a bunch of emotions come over me, it is hard to explain.

She gave me a copy of the penny map.  It shows all the machines around Disneyland, California Adventures, Downtown Disney and the hotels.  You can get it from City Hall or go on-line and download it from

She gave me these three buttons.  I, really, wanted the Honorary Citizen button.  I have a project planned for these buttons.

Then, she came out with these goodies.  The map, an old passholder calendar with mini-attraction posters (I'm going to frame them), a Tinkerbell envelope (ok, a few of them so I can pass them out to my students) and a list of the names of all the Carousel Horses.  I got excited about the list, I didn't know they had names.  So, then, I added taking pictures of all the horses to my Bucket List.

Lauren made my day extra magical by just spending time with me.

I am in love with Pinterest, for so many reasons.  I have created two boards just for my Disney goodies that I have found.  The first one is anything that has to do with scrapbooking Disney adventures -
Disney Scrap Fun.

The second board is All Things Mickey.  It contains DIY projects, clothes, room ideas, hints and food/party ideas.  I have spent a lot of time creating these boards.  I don't want to miss anything.

At the moment, I am working on creating the magnets from the special pins that you can receive for celebrations.  I am almost done with them, hope to post them tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Blog Remake

I love my new blog design - thanks to Barb at Ruby Slippers.  She has designed my other blogs and always knows exactly what I want.  She is super easy to work with.  So, if you need a new blog design - go check her out.

I'm off to Disneyland today, so I can take pictures for my pretty new blog.  I have a list of things that I want to photograph.

Have a great day.

Candy Apple - January

I was very sad last week when we went to Downtown Disney to get this month's apple, because all of the Christmas apples were gone.  I don't like when Christmas is over or the decorations are put away.  It makes me sad.

But, one bite of this month's apple made up for it.  You have to try it.

Imagine, a green apple coated with caramel.  Then, dipped in chocolate.  Ok, seriously that is enough to make me jump up and down.

Then, roll it chocolate cookies.  Squeeze peanut butter, running down the sides and add chopped peanuts.

To die for.  I mean it is so yummy - that I forgot about the Christmas apples and want to eat one a week for the whole month of January.

I did share a piece with hubby - then I hid the rest of the apple for me, hee hee.

So Excited

I am sooooo excited, the parks are starting to look more like Christmas.  Yesterday, Disneyland was suppose to be Christmas decorated, but I couldn't go, sigh.  I can't wait to see all the decorations, it just makes me happy.  Last week, we went to DCA and Cars was decorated.  It was adorable.  I have been thinking all weekend - how I could make some of their trees into little ornaments for a new tree in my house.  Hubby was a party pooper and said that I had to get the other trees decorated, first.  Ha - I love a challenge.

Isn't he adorable.  I need to find an ornament of this guy,  I am sure Disney has made one - field trip.  I have never seen the movie, so I went out and bought it - just so I could figure out who all the characters were.  I blamed my grandson and said I bought the movie for him, giggle.  By the way, he loved the movie.

I think, this is my favorite tree there.  It would make a cute ornament for my tree.  I think, I could put it on my Disney tree - until I have enough ornaments for a "Cars" tree.

Isn't this the cutest thing.

This tree would look perfect in my backyard.  Ok, so I might have a Christmas tree problem.  But, these trees make me happy.  We all deserve to be happy and they recycle.

I am excited to see what else Disney has decorated.  They know how to make it feel like Christmas.

Candy Apple - November

Here is November's candy apple, yum.  It is Rocky Road.  Lots of marshmellow and nuts with a drizzle of chocolate - not too sweet.  It is fun to me to make a trip to Disneyland just to get the apples.  The routine has been - spend the day having fun, get a Mickey cookie and a different apple.
